Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students to thrive by providing critical language access as a contract Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting! Multiple positions are now open for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team and facilitate communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, creating meaningful daily impact.

Choose your preferred age group and school environment:

• High School (9th-12th grade): 2 positions available, Monday, August 10th, 2026, to Thursday, May 20th, 2027. Schedule: 8:00am–3:30pm, 35 hours/week. Caseload: 12 students total, working with 1-3 students at a time.
• Elementary-Middle School (Kindergarten–8th grade): 2 positions available, Monday, August 17th, 2026, to Friday, May 28th, 2027. Schedule: 8:15am–3:45pm, 35 hours/week. Caseload: 30 students total, with 1-5 per class.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (must provide screenshot as confirmation)
• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Understanding of educational environments and the needs of deaf/hard-of-hearing students
• Strong professional communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to onsite service throughout the assignment

• Interpret verbal communication and classroom instruction for students and staff
• Collaborate with special education teachers and other professionals to optimize student engagement
• Adjust interpreting style to meet individual student needs and class content
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
