Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Nonprofit Executive Director Due to new client acquisition, Association Acumen, LLC is seeking an experienced Executive Director for a 4,000+ dynamic international nonprofit professional membership organization. The successful applicant should have a minimum of five years' experience as an Executive Director, leading boards, developing strategy, and overseeing all organizational operations. We are looking for someone with exceptional supervisory and leadership abilities, creative and sound analytical skills, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities. No out of state resumes please. This is a hybrid position with a two‑day work‑from‑home benefit available after a three‑month probationary period, and approximately 4‑6 weeks of travel annually. Essential Job Functions Leadership: Provides visionary leadership for the association, handles multiple responsibilities in directing operations in accordance with the bylaws, mission statement, strategic plan, and established policies and procedures. Works with the Board to keep the strategic plan up to date and manages staff teams, timelines, best practices, efficiencies, and direct reports. Financial Management: Works with leadership to draft the annual budget, provide financial projections throughout the year, identify deviations from budget, and adjust strategies and spending as needed. Monitors monthly financial reports and provides a financial overview with talking points to the Treasurer for Executive Committee and Board meetings. Operations: Oversees the effective operation of the association, provides consultation to the President and Board regarding fiscal, legal, and contractual responsibilities, maintains regular contact with key officers, creates revenue‑generating opportunities, attends all Board and Executive Committee meetings, prepares agendas and minutes, ensures a high level of customer service, and manages adherence to bylaws and policies. Membership: Oversees efforts to increase and retain the membership base, manages membership recruitment and retention plans, and oversees chapter management. Education: Oversees effort to offer high‑quality educational programming and certification/recertification programming. Certification and Recertification: Provides oversight and direction for the management and promotion of the programs. Awards: Oversees the awards program. Elections: Oversees election process and adherence to bylaws throughout the process. Conference and Meetings Management: Oversees all conference and online training educational efforts and meetings management, including exhibitor management and logistics oversight. Responsible for profitability and effectiveness of the conference. Communications and Publication Coordination: Oversees the creation of editorial timelines, content review, and content management. Supervises public relations activities, manages website and social media content and design, and acts as association spokesperson as needed. Sponsorship: Responsible for securing and growing sponsorship revenue for the association. Database and Website Management: Oversees the creation and maintenance of member, non‑member, and certification/recertification databases, including maintenance of continuing education credits. Committee Management: Provides staff oversight and visionary guidance for all committees. Any other duties or projects as requested. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Skills/Requirements Must: Bachelor's Degree CAE (Certified Association Executive) preferred Dynamic leadership and supervisory skills; open to continuous evolution personally and professionally Ability to build upon established best practices, handle multiple demands and priorities, and achieve organizational objectives Creative, flexible, and sound analytical skills in complex problem‑solving situations Demonstrated work ethic, great communication skills (both written and spoken) Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail Self‑starter in a fast‑paced “hit the ground running” environment Competitive Compensation Association Acumen offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (80% employer paid), a 401(k) with an employer match, and profit sharing.
