Human Resources Associate

Position Summary

The Human Resources Associate provides administrative support to the HR Department, assisting with various HR functions including recruitment, employee records management, and handling HR-related inquiries.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Required to follow dress code policies of any alternative work locations, including but not limited to schools, jails, courts, detention centers, other community partners, etc. 
• Assist with the recruitment process by posting job ads, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, reference checks and conducting background checks
• Coordinate onboarding and training sessions for new hires, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
• Conduct data entry and maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
• Assist in organizing training and development programs for staff.
• Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all HR activities. 
• Help organize HR-related events, such as recognition programs, workshops, etc. 
• Assist with HR audits as needed.
• Assist with employment verifications.
• Assist in the development of new job descriptions and updating existing job descriptions.
• Assist HR Director with special projects and assignments as needed.
• Assist with credentialing and related tasks
• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Credential and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field, or an associate’s degree
• Pass pre-employment background checks, and State of Kansas Adult/Child
• One to two years’ experience in the HR field, or any similar experience combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

• Familiarity with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Proficiency in data entry and HR administrative tasks
• Detail oriented, high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Working Conditions

• Office setting with occasional remote work options. 
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds.
