Position Summary

The Industrial Painter prepares surfaces, mixes paints and coatings, and applies finishes to manufactured parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate has experience with spray painting equipment, surface preparation, masking techniques, and quality inspection procedures. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and applying primers as required.
• Mix paints, coatings, and solvents according to manufacturer specifications and work instructions.
• Apply paint, primer, powder coating, or specialty finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or automated equipment.
• Inspect finished products to ensure proper coverage, thickness, appearance, and compliance with quality standards.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Monitor drying and curing processes to ensure coating performance and quality.
• Perform touch-up and rework on painted products as necessary.
• Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials, respirators, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Record production data, material usage, and quality inspection results.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve coating-related issues.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of industrial painting experience preferred.
• Experience operating spray guns, paint booths, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of paint mixing ratios, coating applications, and surface preparation techniques.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to wear respirators, protective clothing, and other required PPE.
• Comfortable working in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and work in varying temperatures.
