Product Support Engineer

Salary: $73,440 - 139,680 per year Requirements:

• We look for demonstrated technical support experience in complex software, embedded systems, cloud platforms, or similar technology environments.
• We need strong troubleshooting, diagnostic analysis, issue reproduction, solution validation, and technical documentation skills.
• We expect experience with defect handling, escalation coordination, root-cause support, and workaround development.

• We require the capability to mentor L1 engineers and help improve operational processes and knowledge management.
• We need hands-on expertise in one or more Wind River areas such as VxWorks, Wind River Linux, hypervisor technologies, or Wind River Cloud Platform.
• We expect solid Linux administration skills, including system diagnostics, kernel and user-space troubleshooting, log analysis, and performance investigation.
• We value familiarity with cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes environments where applicable.
• We require experience troubleshooting networking, virtualization, integration, and customer deployment architectures.
• We look for familiarity with embedded systems toolchains, compilers, debuggers, IDEs, and issue reproduction environments.
• We expect the ability to learn additional Wind River products through formal training and knowledge transfer.

• We perform advanced troubleshooting across software, platform, integration, networking, virtualization, and customer deployment layers.
• We analyze complex product incidents using logs, traces, dumps, configurations, environmental factors, and other diagnostic outputs.
• We reproduce customer issues in representative environments and verify workarounds, patches, or other approved fixes.
• We support root-cause analysis and identify practical workaround options while engineering investigations continue.
• We identify, document, validate, and track suspected defects, preparing complete technical evidence for L3 and Product Engineering.
• We coordinate technical escalations and communicate progress, risks, next steps, and timelines through approved channels.
• We provide technical guidance to L1 engineers and help improve troubleshooting practices and knowledge content.
• We collaborate with Product Engineering, Customer Support, Professional Services, and other teams during investigation and handoff.
• We operate within established support processes, tools, service-level objectives, escalation procedures, and governance requirements.
• We complete onboarding, product training, security, compliance, access, and operational readiness activities before deployment.
