Lead Fund Accounting Process ImplementationLeads fund accounting process implementation and drives improvements to ensure consistency across global operations. Oversees controls to ensure compliance.Join Vanguard's Private Markets Fund Accounting Oversight team and help support the continued growth of our alternative investments business. Leveraging your fund accounting expertise, you'll partner with internal teams and external service providers to ensure accurate fund accounting and reporting while strengthening oversight and controls. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact team shaping Vanguard's future operating model for private markets through operational excellence, process improvement, and scalable solutions.ResponsibilitiesOversee a suite of private markets and alternative investment funds, helping ensure fund accounting and reporting activities are accurate, timely, and well-controlled across internal teams and external service providers.Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify operational risks, drive process improvements, and support the continued evolution of Vanguard's alternative investments operating model.Manage relationships with outsourced fund accounting providers, monitor service delivery, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance efficiency, transparency, and scalability.Execute oversight and control activities that support financial reporting integrity, mitigate risk, and strengthen governance across the Fund Ecosystem.Analyze complex operational issues, provide insights and recommendations, and contribute to strategic initiatives that improve the client and crew experience.Develop reporting and communications for business partners and leadership while fostering strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.Support the implementation of operational plans, business priorities, and special projects that advance departmental and organizational goals.Qualifications5+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, accounting, finance, audit, or a related financial services environment.Experience working with investment products, fund operations, or alternative/private market investment structures preferred.Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management, oversight processes, and operational governance.Proven ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders, including external vendors and service providers.Demonstrated success identifying process improvements, solving complex business challenges, and driving operational efficiencies.Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.CPA, CA, or other professional financial designations preferred.Special FactorsSponsorshipVanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.About VanguardAt Vanguard, we don't just have a mission—we're on a mission.To work for the long-term financial wellbeing of our clients.
