Private Chef

A private family is seeking an exceptional Private Chef to join their household full-time. The ideal candidate will have an elite fine-dining/Michelin-starred restaurant background combined with several years of private family experience. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled, adaptable chef who enjoys extensive international travel and can seamlessly move between multiple residences while maintaining the highest standards of cuisine and service.

The family primarily resides in Miami but spends significant time in New York, London, Aspen, and Saint-Tropez. The chef will travel with the family and have separate accommodations at the various properties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast/lunch and dinner as required, with primary daily service focused on lunch and dinner
• Shop for the freshest, highest-quality ingredients and establish relationships with local purveyors in each location
• Prepare meals primarily for the principals, with occasional meals for their adult children and extended family
• Adapt menus to the family's preferences and dietary requirements
• Be comfortable accommodating last-minute menu changes and requests
• Maintain impeccable standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and organization
• Prepare occasional meals and events for larger groups of approximately 12 guests
• Travel extensively with the family between their residences
• Research and source exceptional local ingredients in all location
• Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in high-end, Michelin-starred or Michelin-caliber restaurants
• Several years of experience working in a top-tier restaurant environment; significant fine-dining experience beyond an apprenticeship
• Proven experience as a private chef for a family, ideally for several years
• Exceptional culinary skills and a sophisticated understanding of ingredients and technique
• Highly resourceful and knowledgeable about sourcing premium fish, meat, produce, and specialty ingredients
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable taking direction
• Comfortable with extensive international travel
• Strong references and a stable employment history

Schedule: Full-time, Sunday–Thursday, Typical day begins around 10:00 AM

Salary: $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
