Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent oncology specialty experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 16-bed inpatient Oncology Unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Newly reopened unit serving patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Specializes in the administration of chemotherapy
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Oncology required
• Active NURSYS verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from within the last year required for consideration

• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, pharmacists, and support staff dedicated to compassionate, specialized cancer care
• Cardiac exam is required upon offer acceptance — a link will be sent and must be completed within 24 hours
• No pre-start HealthStream modules required; competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
