POSITION SUMMARY:

\n

The AG Field Merchandiser is responsible for driving positive sales and business growth across AG’s wholesale retail accounts through strong merchandising execution, sales analysis, inventory management, store relationships, product training, and consistent reporting. Managing a given territory consisting of multiple wholesale doors, the Field Merchandiser is an ambassador of the company and AG’s creative vision at retail.

This role reports to the Director of Field Training and Development and works in partnership with AG Account executives to execute a wholistic perspective for AG growth in the denim space.

\n

\n

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organized, analytical, resourceful, and confident building relationships with store management, visual teams, and sales associates. They are comfortable working independently in the field while staying closely connected to AG’s Los Angeles corporate team.

\n

\n

This position is for an on-site, full-time and in-person role.

\n

\n

TERRITORY: NY or NJ Based - covering NY/NJ/PHL/BOS/DC/CHI

\n

\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

\n

\n
• Develop and execute account-specific action plans designed to increase AG's ranking, productivity and market share within each wholesale door.
\n
• Review weekly selling reports and door-level performance to prioritize store visits, identify business opportunities, and focus time where it will have the greatest impact.
\n
• Maintain a strong understanding of door volume rankings, historical performance, sales trends, and store-specific business nuances.
\n
• Monitor by-door selling reports to understand product performance and store nuance to identify slow sellers and how to improve sell-through with merchandising strategies.
\n
• Ensure AG is merchandised well to provide a strong visual presentation in alignment with Premium Denim space; Strive for AG to be in the premiere space within the department. Evaluate branding signage, making request callouts to store partners where necessary.
\n
• Ensure all product and denim washes are represented on the selling floor, markdowns are executed, and RTV’s are completed or communicated.
\n
• Monitor (RP) replenishment styles for scaling adjustments or outages. Communicate to corresponding AG rep via store recap communication.
\n
• Partner with Visual Merchandisers and/or Visual Managers for exposure opportunities to ensure AG is considered for features within trend hits. Identify in recap if we are represented in visual moments aside from shop environment.
\n
• Highlight ad or newest fashion styles on mannequins within AG shop footprint and request mannequin updates on monthly rotation visits.
\n
• Work closely with Field Director on launch plans for company big ideas of the season including outposts, focused merchandising, seminars and contests.
\n
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with store management, visual teams, and sales associates.
\n
• Provide on-going product knowledge in the way of seminars, collateral, events and creative ways to excite the sales associates and in turn, the customer. Utilize technology to hold virtual seminars and share seasonal fit training assets.
\n
• Analyze product performance by door to identify slow sellers, opportunities to improve sell-through, and potential assortment gaps.
\n
• In select markets, lead seasonal field walks with Merchandising, Design and Sales for an in-person view of the retail landscape.
\n
• Conduct AG product and competitor try-ons when necessary to evaluate AG on-body performance across CORE, seasonal styles, new fits, and new fabrications

REQUIREMENTS:

\n

\n

• Full-Time, In-Person / Field-Based
\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred/required
\n
• Field experience or comparable Retail experience required
\n
• Ability and willingness to travel with monthly overnights approximately 50%
\n
• Minimum 3 years of related professional experience
\n
• Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced sales floor environment
\n
• Work autonomously in the field while maintaining consistent communication and alignment with AG Corporate in Los Angeles
\n
• Mange monthly calendar and T/E
\n
• Daily submittals of store visit recaps with photos
\n
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
\n
• Professional demeanor and appearance
\n
• Strong presentation skills
\n
• Resourceful and efficient at problem solving
\n
• Some/select weekend days are required during peak seasons/event time periods
\n
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable automobile preferred
\n
• Comprehensive experience with MS Office and Excel
