Medicaid Eligibility Specialist

Medicaid Eligibility SpecialistThe Eligibility Specialist will work onsite at our client hospitals to screen uninsured patients for potential program eligibility for Medicaid and other available funding sources. This individual will assist the patient in completing required applications and gathering additional documentation. The Eligibility Specialist will coordinate working with local Department of Health and Human Services offices and / or other state / government offices, in an effort to determine programs eligibility.Essential Duties and Accountabilities:Adhere to all policies and procedures and understand company handbookAdhere to all relevant regulations related to our involvement with Federal, State and local government programs as well as Meduit and our clients' compliance programsConduct financial fact-finding interviews with patients who are seeking Medicaid and / or other community benefitsComplete Medicaid and other applicable applications/releasesUtilize tools, including computer programs, when indicatedMonitor all applicants who are eligible for Medicaid or other financial assistance or coverage plans, as requiredEnter clear and concise notes in the required patient accounting systems in both the hospitals and Meduit Health SystemsEnsure all supporting documents, including applications and receipts, are obtained and filed timelySuccessfully help coordinate and manage the portfolio of applicants with headquarters support staffWork as a team player to meet both personal and group or office goalsOther duties as assignedEducation/Experience/Minimum Qualifications:H.S.
