Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (Rn)We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Birthing Center team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a supportive and collaborative environment.Unit InformationUnit Type: Labor and Delivery (L&D)L&D Beds: 13Operating Room Suites for C-Sections: 2Triage Beds: 2Postpartum Beds: 14Average Monthly Births: 170-190Annual Deliveries: 2,104 in 2025Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2 for L&D and 1:3-4 for coupletsResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing labor and delivery.Attend deliveries independently and assist with C-sections.Support the transition and care of newborns post-delivery.Titrate drips as needed, including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin.Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Conduct postpartum assessments and care for mothers and infants.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience.Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required; advanced fetal monitoring certification preferred.Ability to work autonomously while managing patient care responsibilities.Experience with high-risk pregnancies, including conditions such as Preeclampsia and Diabetes.Comfortable assisting with deliveries and transitioning newborns.Work EnvironmentPosition requires weekend shifts on a rotating basis.Weekend requirements include working both Saturday and Sunday during the day.Holiday shifts are rotated among staff members.Orientation includes a unit-specific training program and compliance courses.Additional NotesThe ideal candidate will be adaptable to unit policies and feedback processes.
