Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Pay: $20 - $24 per hour

Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Day Shift

As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless movement of materials in and out of the organization. Collaborating closely with various departments, you'll help maintain efficient operations by accurately handling shipments, documentation, and safety compliance.

What You'll Do

As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Greeting drivers and walk-in customers to provide excellent customer service.
• Receiving and inspecting incoming shipments for quality, accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders.
• Verifying quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and documentation before accepting deliveries.
• Recording receipt of goods into the purchasing system.
• Labeling, storing, and routing materials to the appropriate departments or storage areas.
• Coordinating with purchasing and vendors to resolve discrepancies or damaged shipments.
• Processing customer returns efficiently.
• Updating and maintaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records.
• Preparing outbound shipments, including building skids, packaging, recording weights and dimensions, and applying labels.
• Ensuring all shipments adhere to domestic and international regulations.
• Coordinating with freight carriers and parcel services for pickup schedules.
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely to move materials.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assisting with inventory audits and routine equipment maintenance.
• Communicating with management about any barriers impacting shipping operations.
• Supporting continuous improvement efforts in shipping processes.
• Following all safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
• Forklift operation experience (certification a plus).
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, including weights and measurements.
• Basic computer skills (email, MS Word, Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Reliable work ethic and punctuality.
• Experience building custom skids/crates.
• Carpentry skills
• Ability to read a tape measure

Location & Schedule:

This position is on-site in Cleveland, OH, and offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
