Rental Sales Representative (base + commission)

This Rental Representative will be responsible for acting as the front line sales agent for the rental of vehicles to the company’s current lease and commercial rental accounts as well as potential commercial rental customers. 

Responsibilities: 

- Maximize rate opportunities within the market place 

- Responsible for generating rental, lease and vehicle sales leads 

- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customer base 

- Ability to maximize operational effectiveness by coordinating overall inventory levels to meet customer demands 

- Responsible for overall profitability, operations and asset management of a rental location 

- Accountable for coordinating with Maintenance, Asset management, and Sales to ensure customer satisfaction 

- Responsible for overall satisfaction for all internal and external customers - Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, disputes in order to maintain the ongoing relationship 

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial vehicle, truck, equipment, fleet, or rental sales preferred. 
• Prior experience managing or contributing to a rental department P&L is highly desirable. 
• Experience with commercial rental transactions, rental agreements, billing, and contract administration. 
• Proven sales experience, including prospecting and following up with customers by phone, email, and in person. 
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with commercial and fleet customers. 
• Understanding of rental fleet utilization, revenue, pricing, and profitability. 
• Experience working with insurance requirements and compliance for commercial rental agreements. 
• Experience handling vehicle damage claims, estimates, repairs, customer communication, and payment collection. 
• Experience working closely with a service/maintenance department to coordinate vehicle availability and repairs. 
• Ability to identify opportunities to grow rental revenue and expand existing customer relationships. 
• Industry experience in truck rental, commercial transportation, fleet management, automotive, equipment rental, or related industries strongly preferred.

• Ability to work effectively with service, sales, accounting, and management teams. 
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn and use rental/fleet management and billing systems. 
• Accountable and ownership-minded that takes responsibility for the rental fleet, customer experience, and financial results. 
• Professional, dependable, and able to represent the company positively with commercial customers.
