Medicare Member Services Representative
A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Member Services Representative in Akron, OH 44305. This position is with a respected healthcare organization and offers career growth potential. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week .
Medicare Member Services Representative Compensation
- $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
- A 401(k) with company match is available to full-time employees after 1 year of service on eligible dates.
Medicare Member Services Representative Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Medicare Member Services Representative Highlights
- Contract assignment with the potential for extension or permanent hire based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
- Standard daytime schedule with no weekends.
Medicare Member Services Representative Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to members by phone, email, and other communication channels regarding enrollment, benefits, eligibility, billing, claims, authorizations, and other health plan questions.
- Document member inquiries, requests, and complaints accurately in the tracking system and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Meet departmental productivity and quality standards for call handling and documentation.
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a customer-first approach during every interaction.
- Research and resolve member concerns using sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare, health insurance plans, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with members, providers, and internal departments to resolve issues efficiently.
- Protect confidential member health information and comply with HIPAA and all company policies.
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced call center environment.
Medicare Member Services Representative Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service, call center, or administrative support experience.
- Medicare experience is required.
- Previous health insurance experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a Windows-based environment and navigating multiple computer systems simultaneously.
- Strong keyboarding and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional, empathetic, and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive member information.
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.
Medicare Member Services Representative Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework or degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a health plan, insurance company, or Medicare Advantage environment.
- Experience with health insurance systems such as Amisys or similar platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with VPN access, headsets, and remote customer service technology.
