Travel Outpatient Anesthesia Technician - $1,596 per week

Responsibilities ASATT approved anesthesia technician training program certification The Anesthesia Tech II has specialized experience as an Anesthesia Technician, and is able to provide support to the Anesthesia providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Fully competent regarding anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations, supplies, and related equipment. Works independently and demonstrates clinical skills necessary for assisting with anesthesia‑related procedures and troubleshooting equipment in various anesthetizing locations (OR, Cath lab, OB/GYN, CV). Serves as a mentor to Anesthesia techs by helping to train and orient others. Assists anesthesiologist with preparation and placement of neurophysiologic monitors. Assists with induction by connecting patient to monitors. Assists with intubation and maintenance of patient’s airway. Assists with insertion of IVs and other invasive lines. Assists anesthesiologist during outside cases. Anticipates needs of anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures such as arterial access, central venous access, fiberoptic intubation, and difficult airway situations. Provides support to the patient care team throughout the case. Performs salvaged blood processing per protocol when needed. Assists anesthesiologist with volume infusions during intraoperative procedures. Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED. BLS - Basic Life Support certification via American Heart Association. Candidate must have one of the following: Cert-Cert Anesthesia TECH (CER-A-T) via the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) OR an Associate's Degree from an anesthesia technician training program approved by ASATT (5 years experience as an Anesthesia Technician accepted in lieu of CER-A-T). 3 years experience as an anesthesia technician. Schedule Information Schedule varies mostly Monday to Friday, 7 PM to 7 AM for 12‑hour shifts and 10:30 PM to 7 AM for 8‑hour shifts, TBD if rotation or straight 8s. On‑call all shifts and weekends as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary systems and infection control. Advanced working knowledge of equipment for anesthesia and airway management and thorough knowledge of set‑up and calibration of pressure transducer and IV fluids. Ability to demonstrate knowledge relating to anesthesia procedures to effectively anticipate anesthesiologist needs. Ability to utilize and troubleshoot problems with anesthesia equipment. Ability to set priorities and accept instructions from physicians or other clinical personnel. Demonstrate speed and timeliness in all duties, especially in preparation for emergencies and trauma procedures. Must be able to write and speak effectively in English.
