Product Line Manager

Job Description Summary Position Objective: The Product Line Analyst is responsible for aiding in the design and execution of a comprehensive lifecycle plan including market strategy, supplier selection, product support, and lifecycle returns for assigned capital equipment categories. The role includes development of appropriate strategies for the negotiation and administration of national contracts for market position, products, and the full life cycle support. Position Responsibilities Serve as an active team member in the development and implementation of fleet strategies and initiatives that reduce the total cost of equipment ownership. Assist in the identification, evaluation, engagement and negotiation process, and ongoing management of key supply partners. Perform industry benchmarking and total cost of ownership analysis to identify continuous cost and fleet improvements. Assist in developing a fleet plan including purchases and disposals to maximize life‑cycle returns from the rental fleet. Reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and secure favorable commercial terms while cultivating long‑term, mutually beneficial relationships with preferred suppliers. Develop training, maintenance, and analysis to support the product line. Present material in concise oral and written form to executives regarding findings, opportunities and progress on projects that directly impact the company’s P&L. Establish relationships within the organization to become an integral member of cross‑functional teams (Operations, Sales, Procurement, Marketing, etc.). Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience. Experience: 1–3 years of product life‑cycle management. Familiarity with the construction capital equipment marketplace, either from fleet management or manufacturer perspective. A strategic view of the total supply chain, encompassing capital equipment and lifecycle management. Demonstrated leadership in internal and external functions with proven results in total cost of ownership reduction and process efficiency improvement. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of an organization. Ability to manage and analyze existing contracts, identify spend reduction, spend leveraging and other opportunities to maximize equipment utility. Ability to articulate and frame issues in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated ability to effect positive change and deliver results in a complex organization. Strong analytical capabilities to assess short‑ and long‑term requirements and needs of the business. Project management experience is preferred. MBA is preferred. Physical Demands Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more. Some positions may require driving for long periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, working in extreme weather conditions and/or night and weekend work.
