Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.Job DescriptionUnder the guidance of the Outbound Manager, the Receiving Supervisor will oversee receiving operations, plan office production, and act as a technical resource for the team. The Receiving Supervisor will review inbound waste streams. The Receiving Supervisor ensures that all incoming waste is accurately entered into the inventory tracking system for proper management, disposal, and billing. Utilizing their strong leadership skills, the Receiving Supervisor will ensure their staff input all waste in compliance with Clean Earth's policy and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The Receiving Supervisor will coordinate regularly with Plant management to ensure safe, proper, and consistent handling of all inbound waste.Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)InboundManage inbound waste from service centers and other waste sources, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.Provide insights on waste entering inventory that requires lab testing.Keep informed about updates in lab testing regulations and industry standards.Accept waste for processing, ensuring it meets company standards and regulatory requirements.Maintains proper documentation and manifests for waste entering facility according to State and Federal requirements.OutboundOffer expertise on outbound shipping strategies and methods, providing recommendations for improvement.Plant ManagementDirect, coach, and develop employees, ensuring they meet operational needs and compliance with company policies.Review Weekly and Monthly Production summaries.Keep informed about updates in supply management regulations and industry standards.Implement safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.Stay updated on changes in cost management regulations and industry standards and provide recommendations for improvement.Performs other related duties and/or project work as required or requested.Work Environment:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on occasion.Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.Willingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation as needed 10% or less of the time.QualificationsEducation: (BA or BS degree required or preferred)High school diploma or GEDBachelor's degree in an environmental-related field preferred or equivalent work experienceExperience: (Required minimum of years of relevant experience.)40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and current or ability to obtain2+ years of progressive environmental/hazardous waste management experience working in an operations capacity in receiving waste or materials managementExperience in the hazardous waste industry and general knowledge of RCRA and Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations as it relates to the transportation and processing of waste is preferredExperience in team building and collaborationExperience with employee engagement strategies and practicesSkills: (The skills listed are the abilities and knowledge required to perform the job effectively)Understanding of waste profiling and tracking related to acceptance into inventory.Able to implement and communicate continual improvement of productivity standards and team member safety in all phases of the operation in accordance with financial goalsKnowledge of regulatory requirements related to waste management preferredUnderstanding of safety, lockout/tagout, and compliance protocols preferredAbility to analyze, draw conclusions and develop actionable improvements from complex dataUnderstanding of data science methodologies and toolsAttention to detail in work tasks and documentationAbility to lead and manage a team and delegate effectivelyBasic proficiency in basic computer skills and software applications preferredAdditional InformationThis job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
