About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in cardiac/tele experience required. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required, NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery. - Knowledge of IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, renal failure, and pre/post hemodialysis management. - Proficiency in IV therapy, chest tubes, nasal cannulas, and wound care. Description: First-time travelers are welcome with a minimum of 2 years of cardiac/tele experience required. Floating is required to all care areas to care for medical-surgical, medical-surgical/telemetry, and telemetry patients as needed. There is no call requirement. Every other weekend is required. Participation in holiday coverage may be necessary. Travelers must shave for a mask to seal for fit testing. CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and travelers should not use their own PAPRs or CAPRs at the facility. Failure to shave for fit testing will result in cancellation. The unit has a patient ratio of 4-5 during the day and up to 5 during the night. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Typical patient diagnoses include post CABG, valve repair, thoracotomy, respiratory failure (trach management), and vascular procedures. Travelers should be prepared for OSHA respirator clearance requirements before starting.
