Travel RN – PCU / Clinical Decision Unit (Days)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required; holiday assistance expected

Key Responsibilities

• Receive admitted patients from the Emergency Department and complete thorough Admission Assessments
• Perform Medication Reconciliation and initiate acute care orders to support ED decompression and enhanced patient throughput
• Provide care for patients across a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, quick-turnover Clinical Decision / Direct Admit Unit
• Monitor and ensure patient safety, delivering high-quality care with a focus on reducing overall length of stay
• Float to other units within scope of skill set as needed
• Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and Baxter IV pumps for patient care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down / PCU settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, high-throughput environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to take on charge responsibilities
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Experience with Baxter IV pump systems
