We want you to think big, to solve challenges, and positively impact our clients.JOB OVERVIEWThe Core Transactional Technology team is looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer to work on existing or new projects for the Investment and Trading businesses, including the design and implementation of Java based components and systems. At Wellington, our software engineers interact with business partners and analysts and are exposed to the latest industry tools and trends as well as innovative problem solving. This position requires a high level of collaboration and interaction with our other technology and business partners across the department, and an ability to deliver in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication and delivery skills are required.RESPONSIBILITIESLead the delivery of high-quality business solutions, including participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and supportWork with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plansDesign, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack – services, infrastructure and back-endModify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performanceWork with the Architecture team to ensure track work is aligned with the strategic direction of the enterpriseAuthor technical design and support documentationQUALIFICATIONSRequires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.10 plus years in systems development (hands-on) using Core Java and J2EEStrong knowledge and experience with message technologiesStrong knowledge and experience with multi-threaded applications Experience developing high performance financial applications is a plusStrong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environmentStrong analysis, design and modeling skills Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies and their effective applicationNot sure you meet 100% of our qualifications?
