Line Cook

Job Location and Pay City, State: Denver, Colorado. Starting at $21.00 per hour. Overview The Line Cook prepares and cooks food that is consistent with the hotel’s standards and quality. The position works under a chef in a restaurant or food establishment and is responsible for duties assigned by the Chef, supporting breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and room service. Responsibilities Knowledgeable of all menu items on scheduled shift (am/pm). Prepares all ingredients for the shift before service begins. Operates station efficiently and safely. Uses serve-safe methods for preparing, cooking, holding, and storing all food items. Maintains a high level of quality and output in a fast-paced, hot environment. Follows opening and closing procedures. Keeps the workspace fully stocked and clean. Follows written and verbal instructions. Uses proper knife skills and food handling, storage, and sanitation protocols. Creates food items according to designated recipes and quality standards. Ensures guest orders are managed in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner. Inspects food visually for quality before sending it to the kitchen. Education and Experience Requirements Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications Ability to use cooking metrics and conversion methods for all cooking measurements. Ability to follow simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to handle standardized situations with minimal variability. Certificates and Licenses Safe Serve/Food Handler’s Card. Physical Demands The role requires standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently, and working long hours, including occasional flexible and long shifts.
