Public Health Scientists Associate
Dept of Health Services
The Public Health Scientist Associate conducts laboratory analyses on dried blood spots from newborn babies to identify metabolic disorders at the Arizona Department of Health Services. The role performs chemical, hematological, and molecular testing of clinical specimens, maintains quality control and laboratory records, and provides equipment maintenance within the Office of Newborn Screening. Key qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biological or clinical laboratory science Knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and clinical laboratory methods Skills in molecular and chemical laboratory testing and interpretation Knowledge of quality control procedures and Federal/State clinical testing standards Ability to perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment Valid driver's license #J-18808-Ljbffr Dept of Health Services
