Job Description

We are seeking a Volunteering Strategy & Operations Manager to lead client's global employee volunteering portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise-scale employee volunteering, engagement strategy, Benevity platform administration, cross-functional campaign leadership, and internal communications and a proven ability to translate organizational goals into scalable programs and measurable participation outcomes .

Responsibilities:

• Own planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of global volunteer programs and campaigns.
• Design and evolve flagship initiatives, including 40 Days of Doing Good, We Day, Volunteer Awards, and Volunteer Summit.
• Build campaign plans with milestones, owner roles, dependencies, readiness needs, participation targets, and escalation paths.
• Source, pilot, and evaluate scalable volunteer opportunities to engage employees globally.
• Cultivate and manage nonprofit partnerships to deliver high-impact volunteer opportunities.
• Strengthen linkage between recognition, storytelling, participation growth, and leadership engagement.
• Ensure operational launch readiness with clear ownership, transitions, and issue management.
• Capture lessons learned and drive process improvements for future cycles.
• Lead policy governance, reviews, updates, and compliance monitoring for volunteer programs.
• Partner across functions to manage grants, reward budgets, and program assets including t-shirts and SharePoint content.
• Engage Social Impact leads, volunteering hubs, BRGs, and champions to drive participation and adoption.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders on timing, audience needs, and activation opportunities.
• Provide strategic guidance to business units to increase volunteer participation.
• Align with Communications on leader outreach and employee calls to action.
• Serve as the hands-on Benevity expert, configuring programs, workflows, forms, campaign mechanics, and resolving execution issues.
• Own reporting and data quality, including business rules, hour validation, reward workflows, outlier review, reconciliation, and audit-ready evidence.
• Build dashboards and trackers or partner with reporting teams to connect activity to goals and recommend actions.
• Maintain the operating system and documentation across SharePoint, playbooks, templates, trackers, and access paths to enable repeatability.
• Embed a communications mindset in program design and partner on message strategy, channels, leader toolkits, and storytelling.
• Activate stakeholders with clear roles, materials, timing, and feedback loops, coordinated with platform readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years in enterprise volunteer programs, employee engagement, philanthropy, social impact, or internal communications.
• Proven leadership of global or enterprise-wide campaigns from strategy through execution across regions and functions.
• Expert hands-on Benevity proficiency, including setup, configuration, administration, reporting, data validation, troubleshooting, and audit processes.
• Ability to operate as a strategic leader and individual contributor, delivering complex program and campaign work.
• Strong strategic thinking and advisory capability with senior leaders, translating goals into portfolio and participation strategies.
• Experience cultivating nonprofit partnerships and scaling volunteer opportunities.
• Background in governance, policy oversight, compliance, and stewardship of grants, budgets, rewards, or assets.
• Command of program management fundamentals including workback planning, dependencies, risks, decisions, alignment, launch readiness, and improvement.
• Data-driven approach to measure participation, volunteer hours, experience, and effectiveness.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce clear, reusable documentation in Benevity, SharePoint, forms, and trackers.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with influence in a global, matrixed environment.
• Required communications background or equivalent experience in employee or internal communications, message strategy, stakeholder communications, storytelling, or campaign communications.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a corporate foundation, CSR, employee giving, or global volunteering function.
• Experience supporting or presenting to Foundation governance bodies, senior leadership, or Boards.
• Experience designing skills-based volunteering, accelerators, advisory models, or talent-to-nonprofit matching.
• Experience producing volunteer awards, summits, recognition programs, or large-scale employee events.
• Experience managing nonprofit grants, reward budgets, vendors, or distributed assets.
• Formal communications leadership with storytelling and content production capabilities.
