Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC or skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a state/government-run long-term care center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
• LTC unit caring for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20 in a 300-bed facility
• Evening shift, 8 hours, 5 days per week (2:45 PM - 11:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• 40 hours per week with no overtime available at this center
• PCC (PointClickCare) charting system used, though experience is not required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required with no license hits allowed
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of LTC or skilled nursing experience required
• Other recent specialty experience such as SNF, Rehab, Med Surg, or Hospital experience will be considered
• Must pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Must be able to supervise CNAs on assigned units

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely, accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies while supervising CNAs
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
• Start dates align with the biweekly orientation schedule
• Any call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
• Attire includes any solid-colored scrubs with closed-toe shoes
• Free parking is available on-site
• Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to accepting the offer, as schedule and RTO cannot be changed once offered
• Holiday RTO will not be approved prior to start and must be arranged directly with the facility after beginning the assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
