Temporary Faculty Pool – Department of Economics Position: Temporary faculty pool for the Department of Economics. Faculty may be required to start teaching on short notice. Fall term begins in late August and ends mid-December; Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Responsibilities Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum. Serve weekly office hours as per assigned teaching unit load. Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses; classes are taught in person at various times as needed, including evenings. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline relevant to the curriculum. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Economics or related discipline. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to provide evidence of strong teaching. Salary and Benefits Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries are prorated to the number of units worked and paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. Anticipated hiring range (depending on qualifications) for Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677; Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224; Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523; Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211.
