Location Gainesville Job Summary The University of North Georgia invites applications for a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Biology. We are seeking a biologist with expertise in physiology, histology, or neuroscience. Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses such as majors or non-majors' introductory biology, neuroscience, physiology, and other related courses in specialty; scholarly work involving undergraduates; advising students; service to the department, university and community; and professional development. Teaching assignments may extend to other campuses. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research. Ability to successfully incorporate technology and teach on-line is highly desirable. Required Qualifications Ph.D., or terminal degree, at the time of hire in biology or related discipline. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential with preferred experience at the college level. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Teaching experience in biology, physiology, histology or neuroscience.
