Payroll Supervisor Job Description:

PrideStaff Financial is partnering with a Roseville business who is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to join their team.  The Payroll Supervisor will lead and oversee the Payroll department, ensuring Tax and Accounting duties are processed accurately while implementing policies and procedures that align with federal, state, and local laws. The ideal Payroll Supervisor has 7+ years of multi-state Payroll experience focused on Payroll Tax, federal, and state laws, coupled with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.  The Payroll Supervisor position is a full time, direct hire position in Roseville, CA.   

Payroll Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide Leadership For The Payroll Department as You Supply Daily Training & Oversight For General Payroll Needs 
• Lead All Research & Processing of Complex Payroll, Payroll Tax, & Payroll Accounting 
• Ensuring Accurate & Timely Payroll is Processed 
• Lead Audits, Reviews, Quarterly & Annual Payroll Tax Filings Including (Federal, State, Local, & Unemployment) Resolving All Tax Discrepancies, Including W2 & FICA Issues 
• Respond to All Audit Questions, & Provide Data as Requested 
• Respond Promptly to Payroll Inquiries & Compile Data & Spreadsheets For Management 
• Analyze Payroll Data, Processes, & Procedures Ensuring Compliance With Federal, State & Local Laws 
• Find Areas of Improvement & Implement Solutions For Accuracy & Efficiency 
• Lead & Support Payroll Tax For Quarter & Yearly Reconciliation & Audits 
• Assist With Banking & Payroll Funding Tasks 
• Oversee All Training & Coaching of The Payroll Team 
• Assist With Additional Payroll & Accounting Needs as Requested 

Payroll Supervisor Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Required 
• 7+ Years of Multi-State Payroll Processing Experience Highly Preferred 
• Previous Payroll Leadership Experience Preferred
• Excellent Multi-State Payroll Knowledge Coupled With Wage, Hour Laws, & Tax Regulations Required
• Previous Experience With 125 Plans, 401K & Benefits Related to Payroll 
• Solid Automated Payroll Systems & Timekeeping Systems Required 
• Superb Analytical Skills Focused on Reports & Numbers With an Eye For Detail in Finding Errors
• Must be Proficient With Office Software Including Spreadsheets, Word, Excel, & Accounting Software 
• Demonstrates Superb Written & Verbal Communication Skills 
• Excellent Customer Service With The Ability to Manage Multiple Deadlines Simultaneously
