Clinical Youth Leader

Position Title Clinical Youth Leader Department Children, Adolescent and Family Services Reports to Program Manager Location Washington, DC – In School/On‑Site support (remote and on‑site) Work Schedule 21 hours per week (11 hours remote, 10 hours on‑site); Monday‑Friday during school hours and one Saturday per month for BAM‑FI Academy. Travel 25–50% to TFI sites: Chicago, New York, Dallas, Houston, Oakland, Los Angeles. Pay Range $27.47 – $50.49 per hour Position Overview Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant) seeks an exceptional candidate to provide clinical oversight to Clinical Youth Leaders (CYL) delivering care management services to young men of color in the Becoming A Man Fellowship Initiative (BAM‑FI) pilot program in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Provide in‑school support to fellows (youth ages 14‑18), connect to resources, and deliver crisis intervention. Visit partner schools weekly, offering clinical support in BAM circles and facilitating groups at 2‑3 schools, with virtual support flexibility. Conduct yearly emotional wellness assessments to identify social‑emotional needs. Collaborate with site teams, attend meetings, and conduct check‑ins for social‑emotional wellness support. Provide on‑site training and workshops for parents, staff, and mentors. Facilitate life and social skills groups for fellows. Engage alumni/graduates, referring them to services in college communities. Assist the Program Manager in identifying community resources and mental‑health providers. Interview and vet mental‑health services providers; match fellows with appropriate providers. Facilitate coordination among multiple providers or systems (legal, foster care, psychiatry, etc.). Maintain case‑contact records. Participate in individual and group supervision. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities Decision making: remain calm during youth and family crises. Passion for working with youth and families. Understanding of school‑based policies and protocols. Knowledge of adolescent social‑emotional development and mental‑health presentations. Identify multi‑faced problems; provide solutions with minor organizational impact. Analyze, realign responsibilities, and propose alternative solutions. Scope of Responsibility and Accountability Promote culturally competent mental‑health practices. Strong clinical assessment and engagement skills. Strong communication, presentation, group facilitation, and documentation skills. Manage own tasks with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or 3‑5 years of clinical case work experience; licensure required (LGSW, LICSW, LCPC, LPC, LCSW). Minimum 3 years direct experience in mental‑health or education nonprofit field. Strong understanding of challenges faced by Black and Brown boys in the mental‑health system. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Bilingual/fluent in Spanish strongly preferred. Ability to work weekends (one Saturday per month) and travel to other TFI sites. Excellent organizational, communication, and crisis‑management skills. Commitment to social justice and equity.
