Fiscal Management Specialist 2 - SCI Chester

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2 with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Chester. Responsibilities Budget Projections: Develop projections, review expenditures, and adjust accounts based on program needs Budget Control: Analyze financial reports of open encumbrances to ensure accuracy and prevent lapses in program funds Accounts Payable: Process payments, oversee invoice handling, and supervise accounting for expenditures Fixed Assets: Oversee inventory records and authorize updates to fixed asset documentation Accounts Receivable: Prepare refund documents, verify collections, and maintain supporting fiscal records Staff Supervision: Guide the work of accounting staff and ensure training and performance standards are met Work Schedule and Additional Information Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes) Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
