TK/Kindergarten Instructional Aide

Description St. Emydius Catholic School, located in the city of Lynwood (near Plaza Mexico), serves students in Transitional Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. Our community provides a rigorous and faith-filled Catholic education and forms students to become faithful Catholics, active learners, self‑motivators, and globally aware citizens. St. Emydius Catholic School is seeking a warm, dedicated, and student‑centered TK/Kindergarten Instructional Aide to join our team for the 2026‑2026 School Year. The Instructional Aide is under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher in order to support differentiation and a nurturing learning environment. The ideal candidate brings a spirit of service, a love for working with young learners, and a genuine commitment to the mission of Catholic education. This role is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful daily difference in the lives of children. The Instructional Aide will: Work directly with students approximately 75% of the time, with the remaining time devoted to clerical support and preparation. Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher, working under her direction to support small group instruction aligned to specific goals and objectives. Instruct and monitor student application of skills and concepts in skill‑based small groups. Maintain a professional, fair, and consistent approach in all interactions with students. Encourage self‑discipline and reinforce positive student behavior. Participate in yard and lunch supervision on a regular basis. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Attend new staff orientation and participate in faculty in‑service trainings related to student health and safety, including CPR, first aid, and disaster preparedness. Schedule: Part‑time, Approximately 28 hours per week (Monday‑Thursday 8:00am–2:00pm and Friday 8:00am‑12:00pm) Requirements High School diploma required. B.A. or A.A. preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Experience working with children. Responsible, punctual, and team‑oriented. Warm and caring attitude. Ability to maintain a safe and structured environment. Willingness to grow professionally and attend trainings as needed Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
