This role manages guest seating, reservations, and dining flow while providing exceptional hospitality and personalized attention. The Host ensures efficient guest experiences by maintaining organization, communicating effectively with the service team, and anticipating guest needs from arrival through departure.Team members are expected to embody Meyer Jabara Hotels' J Quality Behaviors: Joy, Jump, Join, by demonstrating passion for hospitality, proactive service, and collaboration in every guest and colleague interaction Service DutiesGreet guests warmly and professionally upon arrivalManage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments efficientlyEscort guests to tables and provide menusMaintain accurate knowledge of table status and dining room capacityCoordinate with servers and management to optimize dining flowAnswer phone calls and assist guests with reservation inquiriesProvide information regarding restaurant offerings, specials, and hotel amenitiesMonitor guest satisfaction and communicate needs to the service teamMaintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance areaAssist with opening and closing duties as assignedHandle guest concerns professionally and escalate when necessaryFollow all safety, sanitation, and company standardsOther duties as assignedExperience & Education:Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExceptional guest service and hospitality mindsetAbility to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with reservation and POS systems preferredProfessional appearance and demeanorFlexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 20 lbsAbility to bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant as neededAbility to perform repetitive motions including computer and telephone use
