Staff Accountant

Location Greater New Haven, CT Schedule Full-time | Onsite Key Responsibilities Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements for a primary business unit as the Staff Accountant Perform detailed general ledger review, account analysis, and financial reporting in the Staff Accountant role Prepare and post journal entries and complete monthly reconciliations as a Staff Accountant Conduct daily reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data as the Staff Accountant Reconcile payroll tax withholdings, property taxes, sales & use taxes, and income tax-related schedules Support federal and state tax reporting, including apportionment schedules, in the Staff Accountant position Calculate and process business tax payments according to established schedules Generate and review 1099 filings for vendors Perform detailed audits of expense reports and payment records Assist with budget preparation, fixed asset reporting, and project cost tracking Support special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as a Staff Accountant Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 1+ year of corporate accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated sound judgment and attention to detail appropriate for a Staff Accountant #J-18808-Ljbffr CFS
