Senior Software Engineer - .NET Location: Baltimore, MD (hybrid – 3 days per week in office) Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST, Monday–Friday (overtime exempt) Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000 annually InVita Healthcare Technologies is a leading provider of specialized medical software for regulated industries. The DNA & Forensics R&D team develops enterprise software that law enforcement and public health labs rely on to track DNA evidence, manage samples, and ensure forensic data integrity. Overview We are seeking a disciplined Senior Software Engineer who enjoys deep “detective work” within legacy systems. You will maintain and modernize two large codebases, handling everything from UI components to complex SQL stored procedures. Key Responsibilities Maintain and modernize >1M LOC C# and VB.NET codebases, addressing bug fixes and feature enhancements. Work seamlessly across C# and VB.NET environments to maintain feature parity and stability. Write and optimize complex SQL Server stored procedures and manage accurate data mapping. Build and refine desktop interfaces using WinForms and UI toolkits such as Infragistics and DevExpress. Implement business rules and chain‑of‑custody logic to comply with federal and state regulations. Collaborate with senior architects and QA for root‑cause analysis of system behavior. The Tech Stack You'll Master .NET Framework 4.8, Unity DI C#, VB.NET SQL Server, ADO.NET WinForms, Infragistics, DevExpress, ActiveReports Requirements / Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience with .NET Framework 4.8. Proficiency in both C# and VB.NET. Strong WinForms desktop application experience. Advanced SQL Server skills, including stored procedure development, without relying on modern ORMs. Experience with third‑party UI toolkits such as Infragistics or DevExpress. Comfort working in large, N‑tier monolithic architectures where impact analysis is critical. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
