Senior UX Designer

The Senior UX Designer will lead the design and development of user interfaces for web and mobile applications, focusing on creating intuitive, user-centered experiences. This role involves managing end-to-end UX projects, conducting user research, facilitating workshops, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align design solutions with business goals and user needs. Responsibilities:

• Create GUI designs based on user interaction and performance data.
• Lead UX projects, design workshops, and alignment sessions with stakeholders and business users.
• Manage end-to-end user research including recruiting, conducting interviews, surveys, and synthesizing findings.
• Design wireframes, user flows, user journey maps, mockups, and prototypes optimized for various devices and interfaces.
• Facilitate the client's product vision through research, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing.
• Identify design problems and develop elegant, strategic solutions.
• Gather and incorporate user feedback to improve existing interfaces.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, QA specialists, and business stakeholders to meet project goals.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation including reports, reviews, and assessments.
• Manage competing priorities and maintain strong client relationships.

• Proven experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, or UI designer for web and mobile applications.
• Strong ability to define and lead UX projects and design workshops.
• Expertise in user research methods and translating findings into user-centered design artifacts.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Canva.
• Deep understanding of web development technologies and their limitations.
• Experience designing for emotional aspects of human experience in digital products.
• Ability to deliver wireframes, user stories, user flows, journeys, mockups, and prototypes.
• Strong communication skills to convey design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Team player with experience managing deadlines and client relationships.

• Knowledge of accessibility testing and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Experience working with the Ontario Design System.
• Familiarity with digital service standards.
• Experience handling complex design challenges including legacy systems and nuanced stakeholder relationships.
• Prior experience in public service or Ontario Public Service (OPS) environments.
