With customers' mission-critical needs always in mind, our employees deliver end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains in the interest of national security.Job Location: Waco, TXJob Schedule: 9/80 Regular - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.Job Description:Work as part of a development team in the Systems Engineering department which includes support of requirement development, design and architecture generation, test, integration, and certification of complex systems installed on airborne platforms.Essential Functions:Design and develop physical architectures incorporating mission system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.Translate customer and airworthiness requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.Lead Program Integrated Product Teams of cross-disciplined engineers with internal and external members.Become a focal point for conversation with the customer on technical issues.Define requirement traceability methods.Perform the systems engineering trade study process.Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design.Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite of applications.Ability to operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM).Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and minimum 4 years of relevant prior experience.Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of work experience in a directly applicable field.Demonstrated experience with systems engineering and integration.Preferred Additional Skills:Active Secret ClearanceExperience with Boeing 747 aircraftPrior experience integrating mission systems on airborne platforms.DOORS or other requirement tracking tools experienceDigital Databus Standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553) experienceExperience conducting first article verification testingExcellent written, oral, and presentation communication skillsExperience working with subcontractors and US Government customers.Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle.L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
