Customer Service Representative

Location: Brookings, OR
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week. This is a part time, temporary position, anticipated to last until late December 2026.

Beacon Broadband is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused individual to join our team in Brookings on a temporary part-time basis. We are looking for someone who is punctual, works well in a team environment, and enjoys helping customers.

Schedule Options

• Option 1: 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday (30 hours/week)
• Option 2: 7.5 hours per day, 4 days per week (30 hours/week)
  • Monday and Friday are required workdays
  • Flexible day off Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday

This position requires availability during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM . No evening, weekend, or on-call work is required.

Position Summary

The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support both in person and over the phone. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a variety of customer service and billing-related tasks with professionalism and compassion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and telephone customer support.
• Interact with customers and others in a courteous, tactful, professional, and compassionate manner.
• Use effective problem-solving and communication skills to answer questions regarding billing, internet, voice, and video services, billing errors, company policies, and procedures.
• Assist new customers with obtaining Beacon Broadband services by providing information and education about available products and services.
• Prepare service orders for connects, disconnects, transfers, service changes, and trouble reports, and assign work to appropriate personnel.
• Receive and process customer payments, fees, and other transactions.
• Collect delinquent accounts with empathy and professionalism.
• Balance cash and reconcile transactions daily according to established procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Professional and reliable attendance.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills preferred.
• Previous customer service, retail, administrative, or telecommunications experience is a plus, but not required.
