Details Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit at a hospital in Kansas City, MO Patient ratio of 1:4 Unit staffed with a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs Uses Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, Dopplers, and Imobile communication devices Documentation completed in Meditech Shift schedule 7P-7A on a full-time basis including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period Floating required to areas where competency has been demonstrated Requirements Active RN license (MO or Compact) required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience required Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips Experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements required Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration Two professional references required for MO placement No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Deliver patient-centered care in alignment with facility patient experience goals, including bedside shift report involvement and responsiveness to call lights Join a tenured, family-like team environment in a fast-paced cardiac care setting Unit has received AHA recognition for Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll Navy blue scrubs required, black scrub pants may be worn with navy blue top Many travelers have transitioned into full-time employment on this unit Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-747843.
