Civil Engineer

Civil Engineer – Owings Mills, MD Dewberry has an immediate full‑time opening for a Civil Engineer in the Owings Mills (Baltimore), Maryland office. The selected candidate will become part of a growing team that practices total project consulting and provides comprehensive services to a variety of commercial utility and energy infrastructure clients. This position requires engineering knowledge and breadth/depth of experience capable of moving projects from concept through final design, issuance for construction, and as‑built documentation. The candidate must have a good understanding of public agency requirements and a successful track record in site and civil engineering. Responsibilities Engineering plans, calculations, and reports quality control review. Lead project engineering and design on projects. Represent Dewberry and projects with city, county, state, and federal agencies. Project work will span storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and conduit design, plans and profiles, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control design, maintenance of traffic, layout, grading, and earthwork, cost estimating, plan and permit processing, and technical writing. Assist with preparation of weekly schedules and task coordination. Assist with training/mentoring of staff. Coordinate design review process and permitting through outside agencies and client coordination. Required Skills & Experience BS degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (design‑based degree). 10+ years of experience in design and construction of site/civil, land development and infrastructure projects; experience in the Wilmington, Baltimore and Washington DC corridor preferred. Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland, or ability to obtain in 6 months (Washington DC and Delaware desired). Highly proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Excellent understanding and use of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software. Strong written, oral, and graphic communication skills for effective interface with public agencies, clients, sub‑consultants and staff. Don’t meet every single requirement?
