At LiveTrends, we're not just creating products for homes...we're creating opportunities for talented people to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact every day.The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping operations, ensuring plants and horticultural products are packed, labeled, and shipped accurately, on schedule, and in a manner that preserves plant health and quality. This role manages the shipping team, coordinates with growers, logistics team members, team members responsible for assembly, and ensures compliance with agricultural shipping regulations.Specific AccountabilitiesPlan and supervise daily shipping operations, including order picking, packing, and loading of plants and horticultural productsEnsure proper handling techniques to minimize plant stress, damage, and spoilage during transitCoordinate with carriers (freight, LTL, parcel) to schedule pickupsManage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, phytosanitary certificates, and state/USDA compliance paperwork where requiredSupervise, train, and schedule shipping/warehouse staffMonitor inventory accuracy and coordinate with the growing/production team on order fulfillment timingTrack shipment performance (on-time delivery, damage rates, customer complaints) and implementation of improvementsMaintain compliance with safety regulations (OSHA) and proper equipment use (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)Manage seasonal volume fluctuations, especially during peak planting/shipping seasonsCollaborate with assembly and live good sourcing team to resolve shipping delays or order issuesRequirementsSpecific Skills & Requirements3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management (horticulture, agriculture, or perishable goods experience strongly preferred)Knowledge of plant handling best practices, including temperature sensitivity, moisture control, and fragilityFamiliarity with USDA/state phytosanitary shipping requirements, or willingness to learnExperience with shipping/logistics software and inventory management systemsStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environmentForklift certification, or ability to obtainHigh school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in horticulture, logistics, supply chain, or related field preferredMicrosoft Excel capabilitiesAbility to lift up to 25 lbs and work in greenhouse, warehouse, or outdoor conditions with varying temperaturesAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout shiftLiveTrends does not accept resumes from search firms or staffing agencies for this or any posted position unless a signed agreement has been executed in advance.
