Job Title Program Manager – PreAward Research Support Services Agency Texas A&M University Department Dean of Veterinary Medicine Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff – Full Time Salary $60,000–$70,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Job Description The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate the PreAward Research Support Services unit within the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. The role involves developing and implementing procedures that assist faculty in submitting intramural and extramural research grant proposals, managing grant portfolios, and leading initiatives that enhance research competitiveness and operational excellence. Responsibilities Management of Pre-Award Grant Proposal Services: Provide a full range of pre‑award services to assist faculty in obtaining extramural and intramural research funding, including proposal preparation guidance, primary point of contact for grant proposal questions, and management of required proposal documents. Strategic Evaluation of Funding Opportunities: Identify grant funding opportunities, align faculty research priorities with available opportunities, develop funding summary sheets, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate meetings and communications with faculty, collaborators, & university partners; maintain and develop communication channels; support outreach and relationship‑building efforts with industry and community partners. Compliance, Training, and Staff Support: Manage quality control and assurance activities for grant submissions, develop and deliver training materials, and may supervise program support staff and student assistants. Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of related experience in sponsored research and/or research administration. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing grant portfolios and proposal development. Familiarity with Grants.gov and requirements for proposals to foundations and external funding opportunities. Experience coordinating cross‑functional projects involving faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Experience developing training materials, presentations, or program support resources. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and project coordination skills. Ability to track timelines, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder communications across multiple projects.
