American First Funding (formerly Lakeview Lending LLC) is looking for motivated, coachable individuals ready to launch a career in mortgage lending. No experience or license required. You'll learn the business by working directly alongside experienced loan officers, gaining real exposure to the mortgage process from day one. 

About the role

As a Loan Officer in Training, you'll work closely with experienced originators and get hands-on exposure to how deals are actually built, from first client contact through pre-qualification. You'll learn by doing, not just by sitting through training modules. Alongside that real-world experience, you'll have access to study materials and online resources to prepare for your SAFE exam on a timeline that works for you, with no pressure to rush and no cost to you.

This role is built for people who want to learn the business from the ground up, with real mentorship and a clear path toward becoming a licensed Loan Officer.

$75,000 - $150,000 yearly

• Shadow senior loan officers to learn client communication, deal structuring, and the mortgage process firsthand
• Make outbound calls to potential clients who have expressed interest in mortgage products
• Build rapport quickly and understand client goals, timelines, and    financial needs
• Educate clients on available mortgage options and next steps
• Set appointments and transfer qualified leads to senior sales team members
• Maintain accurate notes and follow-up tasks in our CRM system
• Study SAFE exam materials at your own pace, with support and resources provided
• Participate in daily team huddles, training sessions, and skill-building workshops
• Support a smooth client experience from first contact through pre-qualification

• Must be comfortable working on-site in Southfield, MI 48033
• Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
• Coachable, with a genuine willingness to learn through shadowing and hands-on experience
• Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with clients
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple conversations
• Strong work ethic and desire to grow into a licensed loan officer
• High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
