Security Architect

The Security Architect - Consultant will serve as a contract security engineer within the Department of Administration's Division of Information Security. This role involves designing and implementing security architectures to protect organizational assets, supporting incident escalation, and performing after-hours maintenance as needed. The position is fully remote, supports Eastern Time Zone hours, and offers a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement security architecture solutions.
• Support incident escalation and operational handoffs.
• Perform after-hours maintenance and provide on-call support as required.
• Collaborate with the Division of Information Security to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Participate in virtual or onsite interviews and project meetings.

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant security experience.
• CJIS certification (to be processed by client).
• Ability to pass extensive background checks including credit history, driving record (MVR), E-Verify, and SLED check.
• Experience working with security architecture and engineering principles.

• Experience working within government or public sector security environments.
• Familiarity with South Carolina Department of Administration security standards.
• Previous consulting experience in security architecture.

• Must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
• After-hours maintenance and incident escalation support may be required.
• Extensive background checks and certifications required prior to employment.
• Travel costs for onsite work, if any, are the responsibility of the resource.

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Work schedule aligned with Eastern Standard Time hours.
• Contract duration of 12 months with possibility for extension.
