Behavioral Health Specialist

Job Description About Us Safe House Wellness & Health is a growing behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health and substance abuse services. We are seeking motivated students and aspiring healthcare professionals who want real-world experience in a clinical setting while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Position Summary The Behavioral Health Intern will work alongside licensed clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals to gain hands-on experience in outpatient mental health services. This internship provides exposure to client care, treatment planning, documentation, and healthcare operations. Responsibilities Observe and assist licensed clinicians during client interactions. Support case management and care coordination. Assist with intake paperwork and client documentation. Help maintain accurate electronic health records. Participate in treatment team meetings. Assist with wellness groups and educational workshops. Provide administrative support as needed. Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality. Complete special projects assigned by supervisors. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Nursing, or related degree program. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor and willingness to learn. Basic computer skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Background check required. Preferred Qualifications CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required). Previous volunteer or healthcare experience. What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in behavioral healthcare.
