Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in various settings, including critical care and emergencies. This position requires a strong understanding of respiratory therapies and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies and treatments, such as ABGs, ventilator management, and EKGs.
• Stabilize and transport pediatric and neonatal patients in the emergency department.
• Provide care for adult patients in inpatient and critical care settings.
• Manage continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HHFNC) therapies.
• Assist with intubation procedures as needed while providing support to staff.

Qualifications

• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Preferred Certification: RRT; CRT is acceptable.
• Skills Required: Experience with ventilatory management, critical care, and ABG procedures.

Scheduling and Requirements

• Weekends and holiday shifts are required.
• Weekly schedules will be provided; no self-scheduling available.
• No on-call responsibilities; floating between units is limited.

Orientation and Training

All clinicians must be available for a week-long orientation, which includes sessions on ABGs, EKGs, and hospital protocols. Some modules may be conducted remotely, but attendance is required.

Dress Code

Strict adherence to departmental dress code is expected.

Key Equipment

Familiarity with hospital-grade respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow respiratory systems is necessary.

Leadership and Support

The department is led by an RT manager with support from charge therapists to ensure effective team collaboration and patient care delivery.
