Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) aerospace manufacturing organization at Redwire Defense Tech. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality UAS/UAV products and components by implementing and maintaining quality standards, conducting inspections and tests, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise in quality engineering principles, attention to detail, and analytical skills will contribute to our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for UAS/UAV manufacturing.Conduct inspections and tests on UAS/UAV components, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and engineering, to identify and resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.Create and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, test procedures, and quality records, to ensure traceability and compliance.Perform root cause analysis and utilize statistical analysis tools to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.Participate in design and manufacturing reviews to ensure quality requirements are considered and incorporated throughout the product lifecycle.Support the development and implementation of quality assurance plans and quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to establish quality requirements, conduct supplier audits, and monitor supplier quality performance.Assist in the development and execution of quality training programs for employees to enhance awareness and understanding of quality requirements and processes.Investigate customer complaints and warranty claims related to quality issues and work closely with customer service and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and ensure customer satisfaction.Monitor and analyze quality performance data, including metrics, non-conformance reports, and customer feedback, to identify trends and improvement opportunities.Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in quality engineering practices, and regulatory changes relevant to UAS/UAV manufacturing.Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, such as statistical process control, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to aerospace manufacturing, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.Experience creating AS9102 First Article Inspection ReportsExperience handling nonconforming materialExperience creating inspection plans/process instructions.Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-610 and J-STD-001HExperience in conducting inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.Proficiency in using quality tools and software applications for data analysis, such as Minitab or statistical analysis software.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues effectively.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections and tests.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate quality-related information to cross-functional teams.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.Ability to communicate company messages and feedback to a broad array of diverse staff.Receptive to constructive feedbackAbility to continually learn and grow, enhancing your knowledge of your area and current trends both in the industry and as a leader.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesRelevant certifications, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certificationRedwire Defense Tech Benefits:Matching 401(k)Paid PTOPaid holidaysMedical, vision, and dental insuranceGroup Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityHSA and FSA OptionsCritical Care PlanAccident Care PlanClearance Requirements:This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and/or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR").
