Procurement Associate

Continuously improve through education, professional training, and certification Represent the company in a manner that supports our mission statement Train and support backup personnel to assist with procurement activities during absences Support hiring and onboarding efforts as requested Treat co-workers, vendors, and clients with respect Communicate with honesty, openness, and transparency Act with integrity, set a positive example, and maintain accountability Complete other duties as required/assigned Procurement Associate Project Responsibilities Assist in implementing procurement strategies aligned with project budgets, schedules, and company objectives Support procurement planning to ensure materials are available to meet project timelines Coordinate the procurement of construction materials for civil construction projects under the direction of procurement leadership Assist in ensuring timely delivery of materials to job sites to support project schedules and minimize delays Track and manage material orders within procurement systems (e.g., Kojo) Support supplier performance evaluations and maintenance of approved vendor lists Prepare reports related to material purchasing, cost savings opportunities, risks, and supplier performance Assist in identifying and managing material-related procurement risks, including shortages and price escalations Help ensure compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards for purchased materials Track material procurement spending and maintain accurate purchasing records Assist with final material takeoffs and buyouts once final plans are approved, including reviewing plans to quantify materials prior to issuing purchase orders Develop and maintain positive working relationships with material vendors and suppliers Support pricing negotiations to achieve competitive and consistent material costs Assist in resolving material-related delivery, quality, or supply issues Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to forecast material needs and coordinate deliveries Coordinate with site teams to align material deliveries with construction sequencing schedules Monitor procurement activities to support adherence to project budgets and forecasts Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs and purchase orders for material packages Understand that equipment, rentals, subcontracted services, and bulk materials such as rock, gravel, and stone are procured by Project Managers and/or Superintendents Support the estimating team by providing material pricing and supplier input during bidding and preconstruction Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings and specifications to support accurate ordering and adjustments when plan changes occur Provide support to Project Managers in resolving material-related issues as needed Monitor pricing trends and market conditions to support purchasing decisions Support audits, internal reviews, and procurement process improvement initiatives as required Position Requirements Include Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) 2–5 years of procurement experience within civil construction/wet utility construction Working knowledge of civil construction materials and supplier networks Experience using procurement software and ERP systems Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills Analytical mindset with the ability to support purchasing and cost management decisions Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external vendors Details above are subject to change based on changes in Company Policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cardinal Civil Contracting, LLC
