What You'll Do

• Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees with a high degree of accuracy
• Review, reconcile, and maintain payroll records and employee data
• Enter and audit benefits deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and reimbursements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payroll regulations
• Process employee expense reimbursements
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Support payroll reporting and audits
• Provide responsive customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries
• Work closely with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations

What We're Looking For

Required

• 3+ years of payroll experience
• Experience processing payroll for medium to large employee populations
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and payroll best practices
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or similar platforms
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in a union or nonprofit environment
• Knowledge of garnishments, deductions, and benefits administration
• Payroll reconciliation experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

You'll be part of a close-knit payroll team in a professional, collaborative office environment. Training will be conducted onsite, after which you'll transition to a hybrid schedule. The team values accountability, teamwork, accuracy, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

The pay range for this position is $33.39 - $33.39/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
