Payroll Specialist

Payroll Administration

Responsible for hourly and salaried payroll processing.

Accurate and timely delivery of payroll.

Data entry for time and attendance and personnel transactions such as new hire, termination, position changes, etc.

Review payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary adjustments or corrections through journal entries or other established procedure.

Research and resolve questions presented by employees or outside agency representatives using knowledge of common problems and of entire payroll function.

Point person for all garnishments. Extensive knowledge on garnishments and its related state laws.

Process and audit SAP/Dayforce interface.

Research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities.

Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.

Prepare and maintain accurate records.

Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function.

Provide accounting support to finance personnel.

Participate on cross-functional teams.

Special projects as assigned with various departments within the company.

Provide timely, exceptional customer service to our employees: accessible and knowledgeable on phone and email questions.

Requirements: Experience needed 3+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll. Up to date knowledge of California state payroll laws and regulations. Experience with payroll systems, Ceridian Dayforce preferred. Proficiency with MS Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, functions). Demonstrated ability to process information both timely and accurately and to handle sensitive and confidential information. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Comfortable communicating with all levels of management across all divisions and departments. Willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job and business. Strong project management and time management skills.
