Senior Accountant

A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Accountant . The ideal candidate will have strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, hands-on NetSuite experience, and a solid background in general ledger accounting and month-end close. The Senior Accountant role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position. Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, reclassifications, and other month-end adjustments. Lead month-end and year-end close activities while consistently meeting reporting deadlines. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules. Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Utilize NetSuite for general ledger activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis. Ensure transactions are properly accounted for in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash, and other accounting functions as needed. Prepare supporting documentation for external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews. Assist with maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Analyze account balances and financial results, identify variances, and communicate findings to management. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency within NetSuite. Partner with Finance, Operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Five-plus years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Strong understanding and practical application of U.S. GAAP. Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong understanding of the month-end close process. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience CPA or CPA-track preferred. NetSuite implementation, optimization, or reporting experience. Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience. Revenue recognition, fixed assets, inventory, or cost accounting experience. Experience supporting audits and internal controls.
