Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: ASAP
Location: West Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, nights, weekdays and weekends; 13-week contract with possible extension

Highlights:

• Work on a 34-bed acute medical-surgical unit with a diverse patient population and wide range of diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7 in a fast-paced, challenging care environment
• Utilize Cerner EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Join a balanced team of experienced and novice staff who emphasize teamwork, compassion, and evidence-based practice
• Daily census of 25-30 patients; unit works with travelers on schedule requests when possible
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (AHA certifications required)

Requirements:

• Active RN license (West Virginia or Compact state; pending licenses accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience required; travel experience not required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications through American Heart Association
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Strong skill set in medical-surgical nursing including IV management, blood product administration, wound care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Reliable attendance is essential; facility expects no more than 2-3 call-offs per contract
